Jessica Smith

Jessica Smith was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated in 2023 from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she studied History and Music and was a member of the University Fellows honors program. At Notre Dame, Jessica is an Edward J. Murphy fellow and student fellow in the litigation section of the Religious Liberty Clinic. She spent her 1L summer in Austin, Texas, interning for the Honorable Don R. Willett on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Her 2L summer, she was a summer associate at King & Spalding. After graduation from law school, she will clerk for the Honorable Elizabeth L. Branch on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia, before returning to Judge Willett’s chambers, this time as a clerk. Outside of law school, Jessica enjoys playing piano, traveling, tennis, and cheering on the Houston Astros.
